Book Worm

I am so amazed how much Abby loves books for her age! Sammi and Maddie of course love books too, but at 10 months they were too busy learning to walk to do anything but chew on books. Not Abby! She will sit in your lap for long periods of time, listening and looking at book after book.

She studies them and checks out everything on the pages.

And she especially likes the touch and feel books. She knows enough to find the areas that have texture and feel them!
Abigail is still a busy 10 month old who is into everything, but all I have to do is sit her in my lap with a book and she immediately becomes so calm and relaxed. It is really amazing! It is hard with 3 kids to actually have the time to sit and read books to her for the amount of time she enjoys. But, every moment that I do get to is so special and I really cherish them!

crawling and football!

Abby officially crawled on Thursday, Sept 3nd! It seems we have been waiting for her to crawl for a long time! The other girls were walking at this age, so it seems weird to me to have a baby only crawling, but I know that is more normal! And she has been so close for months, but just finally put it all together this week. I think I had about a dozen videos of Sammi by this age, and I had none of Abby so far, so I finally took one of her crawling. I also had to buy this super baby gate since our steps are kind of strangely laid out and there is no way to put a typical gate between them. Plus, the doorways are extra wide too. So, I'm hoping this can stretch across both sets of steps in the living room/dining room so the upstairs will be safe for Abby.

Also, the girls are all ready for football season! Although we have taken babies to the Pitt games in the past, we decided to just get two tickets this year and we will take turns going. Last year it just got difficult having 2 little kids there b/c I was always getting up to take them to the bathroom or to get a snack or b/c they got hot in the sun, etc. And so I never even got to really watch the game and Brandon got annoyed b/c he wanted to watch the game with no interruptions. So, we figured with a baby, who is now mobile, it would be even more frustrating and not worth the money. So, Brandon will go to every game and Sammi, Maddie and I will take turns going with him. Anyways, here is a picture of the girls in their football gear. Maddie has a Pitt windsuit, but it was a little warm to wear it today and she wanted to wear her Steeler's jersey. She doesn't quite get the difference yet b/w the teams! Anyways, football season is always a big deal in our house, so we are excited for both the Steeler's and Panther seasons to start!
