First, Maddie has been learning how to read lately! She is doing great and can sound out many words on her own. She loves to read and to try out new books. We are so proud of her! So, the other night, she was working very hard on a secret project. This is what it was! She sounded out the words on the envelope “To My Family” all by herself. Even though it’s not spelled exactly correct, she did spell it how it sounds which I think is great! And she colored the Strawberry shortcake doll (she always colors so carefully like this and includes lots of details and colors) and she cut it out all by herself. It was so sweet when she presented it to us!
And speaking of writing, Abigail wrote her first letter this week! It was the letter A of course for Abby. She has been learning so much at preschool and I think she finally has all of her shapes and colors down. So this week, I started to show her how to write the letter A after she was watching Maddie write letters and wanted to try herself. She caught on pretty quick!
Corinny continues to learn new things almost every day it seems!
She is a pro at crawling now and can get wherever she wants. We have to constantly remind the girls about closing the gate b/c we have found her near the top of the stairs more than once! So tonight I laid her down for bed and after a while she was crying. So I went in and found her like this! I guess she figured out how to pull up to standing! This baby is growing up too fast!!
She has also started to “remember” things. The other day, Brandon was flipping her upside down for fun. Later in the day, Brandon picked her up and she started tilting her head way back b/c she remembered and wanted him to do it again! And now she will also “play shy” with strangers. She lays her head on my shoulder like she is shy, but then will still give them a big grin. I love it!
She loves her sisters so much and they are always entertaining her. Sammi was the one providing entertainment this afternoon and it was so cute watching her laugh with her.
And finally, Sammi went to her first dance! She went with the only man that is allowed in her life right now, Daddy! It was the girl scouts Sweetheart Father Daught Dance. She had such a blast with Daddy and her friends and apparently danced and danced and danced! I’m glad they got to have such a special night together.

wow, that's great Maddie! great job with reading and writing! and i love the coloring job on Strawberry Shortcake. i'll have to show that to Ju Ju - she will flip. :) that's awesome that Abby wrote a letter A! yaayyy!!! another early reader and writer is in the works it looks like! aww, that's so cute about Corinne remembering games and playing shy. she's getting her own little personality! so cute. :) and i love the daddy-daughter dance idea for that age. perfect! i'm glad she had such a fun time with her dad! :)
